The Central Animal Husbandry of the Leipzig University Medicine offers veterinarians interested in laboratory animal science further training recognized by the State Chamber of Veterinarians (Landestierärztekammer) to become a specialist veterinarian for laboratory animal science. For natural scientists, we also offer the specialist further training recognized by the Society for Laboratory Animal Science GV-SOLAS (Gesellschaft für Versuchstierkunde) to become a specialist scientist for laboratory animal science.
Specialist veterinarian for laboratory animal science
The continuing education lasts approximately 4 years and is carried out in accordance with the corresponding continuing education regulations, including the annex to the continuing education regulations. The necessary forms can be found on the website of the Saxony Chamber of Veterinarians (Landestierärztekammer Sachsen).
Specialist scientist for laboratory animal science
The continuing education is carried out in accordance with the continuing education regulations of the GV-SOLAS. The necessary forms can be found on the GV-SOLAS website.
