Most of your stay with us will be spent in a modern room with an ensuite toilet and shower room, a television and a telephone. In many of the clinics, you will be allocated to a modern twin-bedded room, although some of the clinics have rooms which accommodate between one and four patients.
Most examinations and therapeutic procedures are scheduled for between breakfast and lunch-time; this is also when doctors conduct their rounds. You will notice that our doctors are often accompanied by young people. These are aspiring doctors, or students who are being trained at the university hospital.
During his visit, the doctor assigned to your case will inform you about everything you need to know regarding your condition and your treatment. If you don't understand anything or have any other questions, please ask. If your doctor asks about your symptoms, you should answer as accurately as possible.
Before any operation, a doctor will meet you for a pre-anaesthesia assessment, when he will also familiarise himself with your test results. Together you will decide on the type of anaesthesia to be administered; he will explain the procedure and answer your questions. You should only sign the operation consent form once you have had all your questions answered.
