Our sixty members of staff provide pharmaceutical products, laboratory diagnostics services, and prescriptions tailored to patients' individual needs to the occupants of 1,450 beds at the University of Leipzig Medical Center and 980 beds at four other sites.
In 2009, all of the dispensing chemists, pharmacy technicians, pharmaceutical technical assistants and pharmaceutical commercial employees, as well as apprentices, interns and auxiliary staff moved into the 'new' 1600 m2 hospital pharmacy in House 4 of University of Leipzig Medical Center .
Along with state-of-the-art laboratories and efficient logistics systems, the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified production area is the main centre of pharmaceutical activity there. The move to the new premises was accompanied by the introduction of the pharmacy's own quality management system, and the facility is now certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
The pharmacy was certified to GMP standards by the Free State of Saxony in August 2010.
We have been granted a manufacturing licence pursuant to Art. 13 AMG (German Medicines Act) and a wholesale permit for clinical studies and veterinary medical products pursuant to Art. 52 AMG.
