As a service provider in clinical-diagnostic work, our department serves neurosurgery, neurology and other related clinical disciplines as well as other academic and non-academic institutions in Saxony.
Clinical-diagnostic neuropathology is primarily concerned with the histopathological and molecular analysis of tumorous and inflammatory lesions in the central and peripheral nervous system.
Autopsy diagnostics is an important part of clinical neuropathology. It primarily serves to clarify the causes of death, the quality management of the clinic and interdisciplinary specialist training.
As a member of the Muscle Center at University of Leipzig Medical Center, we examine nerve and muscle biopsies for the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases and diseases of the peripheral nervous system.
