In order to ensure the legally required regular training of persons working scientifically on and with laboratory animals (in accordance with Section 3 (2) TierSchVersV), the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Leipzig has issued a corresponding instruction in which an annual further training of at least 8 hours is required. The Central Animal Husbandry management/animal welfare officer regularly provides information by email about current training courses offered both internally and by external providers.
At the beginning of each calendar year, random checks are carried out by the animal welfare officers to ensure that the legally required training has been fulfilled.
